Enter: Baby Luke

I feel like I’ve finally found my groove with photographing families. Besides the requisite everyone-smile-at-the-camera portrait, which I am more than happy to do, I know what I’m best at and that is spending time with the family, in a relaxed environment, where everyone feels like themselves (or maybe the best version of themselves) while I calmly try to capture the relationships with my camera (preferably while we all laugh together). And I like it. And I’m confident about it now. That’s sort of funny since I’ve now been shooting for seven or eight years. The last couple of these sessions have taken place mostly in the family’s home or yard and I like that too.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I can see myself doing more of these this year. Anywhere between Orlando and Tampa for the next couple of months, and I can probably do some in southern California when I’m there for the month of July. Let me know if you are interested in having these kinds of pictures of your family: laurahinely@gmail.com

Now-to this beloved family! These are especially about the latest addition, baby Luke. Last time I photographed them, he was just a cute baby bump. I try to get one of these to leave with them at the end of the photo shoot and it can go right up on the fridge…instant classic:
